This lovely little owl was started when I first started designing and was set aside for a while and I finally finished it in time for my bachelor’s graduation! I love it!!

  •  Worsted weight yarn
    •  Light and Dark Brown, white, and yellow
  •  Hook size 3.5mm (E)
  •  12mm Safety Eyes or an alternative form of eyes 
  •  Stitch Marker
  •  PolyFill
  •  Tapestry Needle
  •  Scissors
  •  Sewing Pins

    •  In front loops only, pick up the next 2 loops, yarn over, and pull through twice.

Notes-

  • Magic Ring Alternative- chain 2 and single crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook. 
  • This will be crocheted in the round. 
  • If not specified or in () repeat to the end of the round.

Rd 22b: BLO sc around (54) Insert eyes through the center of the eye patch and between rds 16 and 17 of the body, about 8 sts apart. The eye patches should be 1 st apart, so adjust if needed. Sew the eye patch down.

Yellow-

Make 3 toes
Rd 1: sc 6 in MR
Rds 2-6: sc around (6) (5 rounds)  
FO for the first two toes. On the third toe you will continue to the rest of the foot. The toe you just made is the 1st toe referred to in rd 7.
Rd 7: line up the toes and sc 3 on the 2nd toe, sc 6 around the 3rd, sc 3 on the 2nd, sc 6 around the 1st (18)
Rds 8-9: sc around (18) (2 rounds)
Rd 10: sc, dec (12)
Rd 11: sc around 
Rd 12: dec (6). You don’t need to stuff.
FO, leaving a tail for sewing. Center both feet on the bottom of the body and sew on.

Final Details-

Front feathers- using light brown add V’s to the front on the brown part in a desired arrangement.
Ear feathers- cut 5, 4” pieces of both light and dark brown, fold in half, and attach over rd 7 and do this on both sides of the head.
