This little cutie was inspired by my son’s current favorite book. He has suddenly shown a strong love for monsters and especially for Nibbles the Book Monster! Isn’t he a cutie! I hope you enjoy him!

Materials-

  • Worsted weight yarn
    • Yellow, grey, and black
  • Hook size 3.5mm (E)
  • 20mm Safety Eyes, or an alternative form of eyes
  • Stitch Marker
  • PolyFill
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors
  • Sewing Pins

US Abbreviations-

  • Rd(s)- Round(s)
  • MR- Magic Ring
  • St(s)- Stitch(s)
  • Sc- Single Crochet
  • Pc- Popcorn Stitch
    • 5 dc in the same st, take the loop off the hook, insert the hook into the first dc, grab the dropped loop and slip it through the dc st.
  • Inc- Increase
  • Dec- Invisible Decrease
    • In front loops only pick up the next two loops, yarn over, and pull through twice.
  • FO- Fasten Off
  • FLO- Front Loop Only- for closing up holes.

Notes-

  • Magic Ring Alternative- chain 2 and single crochet in the second chain from the hook.
  • This will be crocheted in the round.
  • If not specified or in () repeat to the end of the round.
  • Stuff as you go.

FO leaving a tail for sewing and attach facing upward on either side of the center of the mouth.

For the mouth, I made the edge of the mouth start 3 rds below where I inserted the eyes and about 1 st out from the edge of the eye. GoIng down 4 rds, I tacked it down at the 2 spots where I placed the teeth, and attached the teeth.
