This fun little Dino was a request from my little dude. He has shown an interest in dinosaurs and so I obliged him and made this fun little one! He has impatiently been waiting for him to be finished!

Materials-

  • Worsted weight yarn
    • Green, orange, white, blue, and black
  • Hook size 3.5mm (E)
  • Stitch Marker
  • PolyFill
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors
  • Sewing Pins

US Abbreviations-

  • Rd(s) – Round(s)
  • MR – Magic Ring
  • St(s) – Stitch(es)
  • Sc – Single Crochet
  • Inc – Increase
  • Dec – Invisible Decrease
    • In front loops only pick up the next two loops, yarn over, and pull through 2 loops.
  • Hdc Inc – Half Double Crochet Increase
  • Hdc Dec – Half Double Crochet Invisible Decrease – Decrease started like above in the Invisible decrease.
  • Hdc and Dc Pc – Half Double Crochet and Double Crochet Popcorn Stitch – which is specified in the pattern itself
  • FO – Fasten Off
  • FLO – Front Loop Only – for closing up holes

Notes-

  • Magic Ring Alternative – chain 2 and single crochet in the second chain from the hook

Switch to white
Turn and sc 2 in the next 2 spaces. In the last st, sc 4, turn and sc 2 down the ch side (10),
FO leaving a tail for sewing. Add a black pupil at the base of the eye like a little line.
Sew to the head just above the muzzle with a st or 2 between the eyes. Sew in the ends.

FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew at the top between rds 30 and 31. To attach, move the tail in through the leg and out the outer edge, in the middle of the leg. Insert your needle back into the leg one st over and all the way through the leg to the body. Snag a st on the body and go back out through the leg and repeat pulling tight each time, until you have the desired tightness. Attaching this way makes it so the leg can be moved. If you don’t like that you can tack it down more.

Spine-

Ch 36
4 dc in the second ch from the hook. Sk st, sl st, sk st, (4dc in same st, sk st, sl st, sk st) repeat to the end of the ch.
FO, leaving a longer tail than the spine for sewing. Sew down the back down the middle, starting below rd 1 of the head down to rd 7 of the tail. Sew in the ends.
